Kefalonia has numerous spectacular beaches, offering options to lovers of sandy beaches, as well as inlets where you can find peace and relax even in August and no shortage of beautiful bays ideal for snorkeling.
Myrtos is the most famous blue flag beach in Kefalonia and one of the most stunning beaches in the Mediterranean. It is on the northwestern side of the island and 9 km away from Agia Efimia village.
In Lassi, near Argostoli, there are two fully organised cosmopolitan beaches: Makris Gialos and Platis Gialos, with their golden sand and blue waters. Another sandy beach is Avithos, near the airport and to the south are the beaches of Trapezaki and Lourdas, great in extent with many amenities: water sports, restaurants and several shops.
On the east Katelios is a small village with a beautiful beach. A few minutes away are the beaches of Ratzakli, Kaminia and Munda. In Kaminia, where the refuge of turtle Careta – Careta is located, is a quiet and sandy beach with shallow waters ideal for children. The beach of Skala is located at the southeastern edge of the island with a length of 3 km, sandy with small peddles.
On the east side of the Kefalonia the beaches of Poros and Antisamos can be found. Antisamos is just a few minutes away from the town of Sami. It is a nice trail for hikers, with crystal clear waters and fully organized. It became widely famous due to “The Captain Corelli’s Mandolin” movie.
On the north of the island, several beaches worth visiting can be found: Dafnoudi, Foki, Doliha, Eblisi, which are located in a lush landscape of cypress trees and olive trees. Foki is a small sheltered bay with incredible water colour, trees close to the sea and caves under the rocks.
In the west Assos, St Jerusalem and Alaties are found. Enjoying your swim in Assos, the small picturesque seaside village overlooking the Venetian castle is breathtaking.
Near Lixouri there is Lepeda, a brown sand beach and Xi, a red sand beach with clear shallow waters. Atheras is a quiet beach located in the northern part of the peninsula of Paliki. Further west the beaches of Petani and Platia Ammos are located.

Ithaca also has several worth visiting beaches of picturesque beauty and magnificent water colours: Sarakino, St Ioannis, Kioni, Frikes, Afales, Stavros, and Pisaetos.
